KID GALAHAD + THE 45s

24th February 2002
A gig from a band member's point of view:

Another day, another gig and after the mayhem of last night we're still slightly shell shocked. It's an unusually early start today as Ash and Manuel (Paul) plan to find a pub half way to watch Spurs thrash Blackburn.

We finally arrive with two members of the band looking pretty sick and solemn. Gigs at the Park are usually quite a relaxed affair and the audience is always up for a good time, so the rest of the day should be easier on them.

Shortly after arriving, Manuel headed for the bog, to mull over his team's miserable defeat and I thought it might be a good idea to capture the moment on camera. So I sneaked into the gents, whipped it over the cubicle and took a shot. Proud of my achievement I made my way over to Ash and Cavey to have a good laugh at Manuel's expense only to hear one of the support band tell of some pervert shooting over the cubicle wall. Fortunately he didn't get a look at them, due to his pants being around his ankles at the time.

Thankfully the gig went better than the rest of the day and the crowd were excellent.

Following this tour, Mercury Records dropped The 45s and they split up. Meanwhile Volkswagen chose one of their songs for an ad. The result was Aqualung.
