TWIST + NIKITA

9th March 2000
Twist's support tonight came from local band Nikita, their first live gig since the departure of former bass guitarist Greg. Stepping in tonight on bass was Fox Force Five frontman John Litchfield. For one night only. Nikita are bright and lively with a style reminiscent of Green Day, and they know it, but they don't give a shit! The crowd warmed to their short set of power pop punk, and their cover version of Bucks Fizz's "Making Your Mind Up" was an experience in itself.

Twist thumb nailEnter Twist. Peterborough had waited long enough for a chance to experience the live sound of this all girl band that are currently making a bit of a stir in the music scene. They were all the things you'd expect them to be: good musicians, good songs and good looks. The set rattled along at an American rock band's pace and the new full sounding PA at The Park coped well with the band's rawness. The crowd enjoyed it, each in their own way; some moshed, others stared, but most clapped.
